Accessibility
We value making our services accessible to as many people as possible. Read on for more information about accessibility on-board our buses below.
All Connect buses are wheelchair accessible via the front door. Mobility aids (wheelchairs, prams, etc) and disability assistance/service dogs are welcome on the bus.
Buses also kneel and have a ramp to make it easier to board. If you need help boarding, please ask your friendly driver for assistance.
Mobility vehicles
All Connect urban service buses (Feilding, Palmerston North and Whanganui) are wheelchair accessible, and have dedicated space on board for wheelchairs or small mobility scooters.
To allow room to fit onto the bus and in the dedicated space, mobility vehicles must be no bigger than 700 mm x 1200 mm and weigh no more than 300 kg (including user).

Bus-approved mobility vehicle sticker
In partnership with Mobility Manawatū, we've developed a bus-approved vehicle sticker for easy identification for our drivers. To get your vehicle approved and stickered, contact Mobility Manawatū on 06 357 7943.
Service animals
All pets, including disability assistance dogs (guide dogs/service dogs) are welcome on board.
Please note we have a Pets on Buses Policy which outlines our rules for pets on board our services.
The bus driver has the authority to refuse entry or remove pets and passengers if they believe they are a nuisance or a health and safety risk to themselves and/or passengers.
