Service updates

  • Connecting Horowhenua

We're working with Horowhenua District Council to ask you about the future of public transport in Horowhenua. We want to hear what matters most to you, whether that’s better connections outside the district, more local services, or options within Levin. Consultation closes at 4pm on Friday 18 September. Visit the Horowhenua Service page to learn more.

  • Ashhurst School Services Starting 20 July

From Monday 20 July, 5 new school services will be introduced into the Horizons' public transport network. Services will depart Guildford Street in Ashhurst at 8am each weekday during school term time only and will return from schools / colleges approximately 10 minutes after each academic day ends. These services will not be adjusted for late starts / early finishes or teacher only days.

  • Feilding network improvements

Starting 4 July, changes are heading your way! You’ll be getting a fully electric bus fleet, more weekend services (including Sundays) and more consistent frequency. Visit the Feilding Service page to learn more.

  • New Whanganui urban network is live!

Whanganui bus routes and services changed in April 2026. We've introduced buses seven days a week, two routes running every 20 minutes connecting key locations (including most high schools), later services on weekdays and more ways to make transfers to get across the city quickly. Visit the Whanganui Urban Service page to learn more.
